Another section of lawyers attached to Kyandondo East legislator Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine, backed with a group of politicians and fans has this morning ‘stormed’ Makindye General Court Martial in anticipation the singer cum politician would be produced.

The lawyers led by Abdallah Kiwanuka said they have divided themselves in all places where Bobi Wine and his counterparts are anticipated to be produced.

“That is the only option for now since we are having very scanty information on the whereabouts and way forward in relation to our clients,” he said.

The group were however blocked from accessing the General Court Martial (GCM) on grounds that the court is not sitting.

The GCM chairman Lt Gen Andrew Gutti was later seen driving out with some of the panel members supposedly to Gulu, where Bobi Wine is likely to be produced.

Among those that were at the GCM was Conservative Party president, Ken Lukyamuzi who condemned the recent increase in the number of civilians being dragged to the military court.

“These are only kicks of a dying horse that the government is showcasing," Lukyamuzi said.

The Mayor for Makindye, Ali Kasiryenganda Mulyanyama also criticised the continued allegations of civilians being found with firearms, arguing hotels have procedures that direct how one handles firearms while on their premises.

“Ugandans shouldn't be taken by security operatives who front the same line of illegal possession of arms to drag people to the military court,” he said.

The group further expressed fears on what state Bobi Wine and others arrested with him might be in since even lawyers have been denied access to the group amid rumors of brutality and torture.

Meanwhile another group in Gulu led by Asuman Basalirwa has as well been denied access to see or the information regarding Bobi Wine.

“They are non committal on whether he is here or not. What is clear is that we have been denied access to see or speak to him,” Basalirwa told journalists outside General Court Martial in Gulu, where Kyagulanyi is meant to appear.

“They said he was here for treatment then they took him back to Arua, then they also said Court Martial will be sitting here, so we are confused,” he added.

The lawyers, legislators together with Kyagulanyi’s wife Barbara itungo Kyagulanyi will address the media later in the day.
