Makerere Law pre-entry exams set for October 30

Makerere University has opened applications for the pre-entry examinations for admission to the Bachelor of Laws academic year 2021/2022 programme.

In a document dated September 14, 2021, Makerere University Academic Registrar Alfred Masikye Namoah said that the exam will be held on Saturday 30, October, 2021.

"Application forms for those intending to sit the examination are obtainable at the University, Room 505, Senate Building on payment of a non-refundable application fee of Shs. 110,000," Masikye wrote.

Applications according to Masikye will close on 8 October, 2021.

The academic registrar said that the exam will cover reading and comprehension skills, language skills, numerical skills and logic, general knowledge and analytical writing.

Masikye said that for one to be eligible for the exam, candidates must possess minimum admission requirements of the university, and any one of the set specific requirements.

"A-level leavers must hold an O’ level certification or its equivalent with at least 5 passes plus A’ level certificate or its equivalent having obtained a minimum of 13 points (males) and 12 points (females) in any A’ level combination for both Humanities and Sciences," Masikye said.

Candidates who did A’ level before 2013 should have 15 and 14 points for male and female applicants respectively.

Diploma holders according to Masikye, must possess at least a second class or credit diploma from a chartered institution.

Mature age applicants must have sat Makerere University Mature Age entry examination for either 2019/2020 or 2020/2021 academic year while degree holders must have graduated in any discipline from a chartered university.
