Kayihura's wife speaks out on husband's lawyers' saga, endorses KAA

Angella Kayihura the wife to Gen Kale Kayihura has said that only one law firm has been given instructions to represent her husband: Kampala Associated Advocates.

Over the weekend, confusion reigned as to who Kayihura's rightful lawyer is after Caleb Alaka, a prominent lawyer claimed that he had been denied access to "his client" Kayihura at Makindye.

In a brief statement she sent to The Nile Post, Angella said she had been given unfettered access to her husband, who is detained at Makindye Military barracks contrary to reports that no family member had been allowed to see the general.

In a brief statement, Angella wrote: "This is to inform the general public that neither General Kale Kayihura nor any member of his family has met, talked to or instructed Mr. Evans Ochieng or Mr. Caleb Alaka or their law firms, to represent Gen Kayihura as alleged in the media, or at all. Gen Kayihura’s and our only lawyers are M/s Kampala Associated Advocates."

"Gen Kayihura’s lawyers and his family have todate had unfettered access to him...any queries regarding this matter should be addressed to M/s Kampala Associated Advocates."

Kayihura was arrested on June 13 and so far, no formal charges have been preferred against him.
