MAK administrator in sexual harassment case bailed

Buganda Road Chief Magistrate , James Ereemye Mawanda has granted bail to Edward Kisuze, the Makerere University Assistant Administrator who was recently charged with attempted rape and indecent assault on Rachel Njeri Njoroge, a former student.

Kisuze was granted a cash bail of 2 million shillings and 10 million shillings non-cash bail to the four sureties; Jonathan Muyingo 50, a resident of Ndejje, Steven Semugela 55, a resident of Ndejje and also a teacher of Life Ministry based in Kololo, Robert Semanda 45, a resident of Ndejje and an Engineer at Crusade Engineering services in Nateete.

He also presented his brother Dickson Ndaga 50, a private electrician.

Before being granted bail, Viola Tusingwire, the state prosecutor objected to Kisuze's application on several grounds that the investigations into the matter are not yet completed.

Mawanda has also directed prosecution to summon witnesses to appear in court on May 28th 2018 for the hearing to start.

Kisuze was last month suspended from Makerere University by Professor Bazeyo to give room for investigations.

Prosecution alleges that on April 13th, while at Makerere University Senate Building, Kisuze sexually molested Njoroge who had gone to his office to certify her academic transcript.

However, although the photo does not show Kisuze's face, Prosecution alleges that the information availed by his victim pinned him since he has been occupying the said office.
