Family disowns Minister Namuganza over Kadaga comments

Family members to State Minitser for lands and Bukono County MP, Persis Namuganza have disowned her, claiming she has no biological connection to the late Christopher Mutyaba Nkono, a former Royal Chief of Bukono Chiefdom.

In a clan meeting held at Bukono Palace in Namutumba District on Saturday, the family members also resolved to do a paternity test on Namuganza to ascertain their claim.

The clan members have also given an ultimatum of two months to apologize both to the current Royal chief Godfrey Mutyaba, the Speaker Rebecca Kadaga and the Kyabazinga of Busoga Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV as a show of how a true princess should behave.

In the same meeting the clan head Patrick Mugaya asked the Speaker Rebecca Kadaga to organize a meeting with the president to have facts laid before him concerning the minister’s paternity.

This follows a recent spat between the minister and speaker of parliament Kadaga in which the former said the latter is baying for her blood.

The Genesis of the spat started when Kadaga together with another legislator visited Namuganza’s constituency and rallied people against her

On retaliation,Namuganza insisted Kadaga had outlived her usefulness and called upon her to concentrate on serving her people. Namuganza also alleged that the Kyabazinga of Busoga had nothing to offer busoga.

Consequently, the Busoga parliamentary caucus summoned Namuganza over her comments but she was no show, a resoltuiion was passed to have her thrown out of the caucus only for her to claim she had never joined it.
