Former SC Villa coach, Timothy Ayeikoh, is dead

Timothy Ayeikoh, a former SC Villa coach and one of Uganda's most revered footballers is dead.

Ayeikoh passed away today at Jinja hospital due to heart related complications.

He had in July had surgery in India but later his condition worsened.

His body is currently at the hospital mortuary.

At the time of his death, he was the head of sports at Kakira Sugar Works.

He played in the 1978 Cranes team that reached the Africa Cup of Nations finals and lost to Ghana.

Locally, he played for Express FC and coached SC Villa and Kakira Sugar Works

Ayeikoh’s reign at SC Villa from 1992-95 yielded two league titles (1992 and 1994).

He also led The Jogoos to the final of CAF Cup in 1992.

He will be buried in Kisumu, Kenya on Tuesday.

He is survived by a wife, Lillian and eight children.
