Joint security forces have cordoned off a house in Komamboga in Kwempe division where four suspected bombs were recovered last night.

According to Maj Charles Kabona, the UPDF first division public information officer, the raid followed the arrest of three suspects earlier this year.

He explained that Augustine Kalanzi was arrested from Masaka while Nsubuga Suleiman and Swalleh Abibaker were apprehended from Busia and Zambia respectively.

“Since they are in our custody, during interrogation, they provided information leading to the raid at this house,” Maj Kabona said.

He explained that the suspects are part of a large ADF group commanded by Meddie Nkalubo, also known as The Punisher.

According to Maj Kabona, four Improvised Explosive Devices and other military assortments have since been recovered from the house.

“So far, one has been safely detonated and we are in the process of detonating others,” he added.

Security however said there no suspect found in the house.

At the scene, the Chief of Defence and Intelligence Security, Maj Gen James Birungi, is leading a team of JAAT, Counter Terrorism Police and Special Forces Command.
