Tensions have reached a boiling point at the Tororo County NRM district political branch office, resulting in its closure as a power struggle ensues between the administrator and party leaders.

The dispute has escalated to the extent that padlocks from both parties, as well as police, now adorn the office door.

The genesis of the conflict traces back to allegations of disrespect and personal interests within the office.

Tororo County leaders, led by legislator Fredrick Angura, accused administrator Stephen Isogol of undermining their authority, while Isogol contends that the leaders exploit the office for personal gain.

Fredrick Angura, Tororo County South MP, confirmed the dispute, stating,"The problem lies in the constant disrespect shown by the administrator towards office leadership."

In response, Isogol refuted the accusations, alleging that the county leaders exploit the office for personal interests.

"Our leaders are using the office for their own benefit, neglecting its primary purpose."

The conflict took a significant turn when Angura announced the dismissal of Isogol, granting caretaking responsibilities to the Registrar until further notice.

The dispute intensified following complaints from village registrars regarding unpaid dues after the closure of the NRM registration exercise.
