Balinya stars as cops arrest Paidha’s Black Angels in Uganda Premier League

StarTimes Uganda Premier League

Juma Balinya was the  star of the day on Wednesday evening as the free flowing Police FC made life difficult for Paidha Black Angels in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League  at Lugogo.

Scoring three times in the 29th, 73rd and 90th minute, Balinya proved it was not a wrong choice for Uganda Cranes coach Sebastian Desabre to summon him for national duty.

In the 29th minute, the league top scorer converted a penalty after Simon Mbaziira had been brought to down in the 18 yard box for the law enforcement officers to take the lead.

Balinya was at it again when he sent the Paidha goalkeeper the wrong way in a spot kick, after the visitors were penalized for handling the ball in the penalty area.

The hosts continued tormenting their visitors as they scored twice in the added minutes to seal their victory at Lugogo through Balinya and skipper Paul Willa.

Paidha had earlier scored twice through Jackson Nsubuga and Yosuf Kasozi in the 36th and 58th minutes but this was not enough to tame the cops who were raring to go.

In other StarTimes Uganda Premier League games, a Nelson Ssenkatuuka brace was enough for Bright Stars to condemn Nyamityobora 2-1 in an encounter at the former’s fortress, the Champions Stadium in Mwererwe.

In Mbarara, home side, Mbarara City were held to a goalless draw by Ndejje University.

KCCA FC are still leading the 16 team log on 49 points, four above second placed Vipers Sports Club after 23 games.

In the relegation zone, Ndejje University, Nyamityobora and Paidha Black Angels are in 14th, 15th and 16th positions respectively.

Uganda Premier League results
