Embengo have been crowned champions of the third edition of the KATRICO League after finishing the season with 64 points in Kabale, edging out Omutidi, who came second with 62 points.

The league, which kicked off in September 2025, concluded on June 28, 2026, at Kabale Municipal Stadium, where thousands of spectators, including current students of Kabale Trinity College, gathered to witness the final moments of the competition.

Embengo FC maintained consistency throughout the season to top the standings with 64 points, narrowly surpassing Omutidi in a closely contested title race.

Kabale Municipal Stadium hosted the decisive closing event, which organisers described as one of the most attended editions since the league’s inception.

KATRICO League Publicity Secretary Joshua Taremwa described the third edition as a success, crediting the progress of the tournament to leadership and continued institutional support.

“The league’s growth since its inaugural season is due to strong leadership, committed members, and continued support from the school administration,” Taremwa said.

Participant Shalom Kirungi said the league has become an important platform for reconnecting and strengthening unity among former students of Kabale Trinity College.

The Director of Kabale Trinity College, Joab Tumwebarize, said hosting the league in Kabale continues to promote unity and build social capital among alumni.

“The competition revives cherished memories while creating a lasting legacy that connects former and current students,” Tumwebarize said.

Organisers have confirmed that the fourth edition of the KATRICO League is expected to kick off in August 2026.
