Vipers president Lawrence Mulindwa has unveiled an ambitious development blueprint aimed at expanding the club’s footprint across Uganda and transforming its home base into a modern football and community hub.
Addressing members during the club’s Annual General Meeting at St Mary’s Stadium, Mulindwa said the club was now focusing beyond success on the pitch to building a nationwide support base and improving infrastructure.
“We want to expand the club reach to every part of the country. We’re going to support our fan coordinators to preach the club gospel to all corners of the country. It’s one of our main targets going forward,” Mulindwa said.
He also revealed plans to improve access infrastructure and enhance the match-day experience for supporters at the Kitende facility.
“Going forward, we’re going to work on the access roads leading to St Mary’s Stadium Kitende, expand the parking lot for our fans and set up a modern restaurant at the stadium,” he said.
The proposals come as Vipers continue to enjoy one of the most successful periods in the club’s history, having recently secured another Uganda Premier League title after completing an unbeaten campaign under coach Ivan Jacky Minnaert.
The club finished ahead of rivals including KCCA, Express and Maroons, reinforcing their status as one of Uganda’s dominant football sides.
Mulindwa said the 2025/26 season triumph carried special significance because of the difficult start and challenges the team faced along the way.
“I had taken years without dancing, but this time you saw me pull off some moves during the celebrations,” he said.
Ahead of the 2026/27 season, the Vipers president declared a Shs6.5 billion budget aimed at transforming the club into a fully-fledged football powerhouse with stronger commercial appeal and deeper community engagement.
Mulindwa said the long-term vision was to position Vipers not only as a sporting force but also as a national brand capable of competing at the highest level both on and off the pitch.
