Cranes Captain Aucho Suspended by Tanzanian Club Over Misconduct

Uganda Cranes captain Khalid Aucho has been suspended for three months by Tanzanian Premier League side Singida Black Stars SC over alleged misconduct and absenteeism.

His teammate, Amas Obasogie, has also been suspended for the same period while the club investigates allegations of match-fixing.

In a statement, Singida Black Stars said the disciplinary actions were taken through its Disciplinary Committee.

The club noted that Aucho was penalised for misconduct and absenteeism, while Obasogie’s suspension is intended to allow investigations into the match-fixing claims.

“The club reminds all its players and staff to uphold discipline, accountability, and respect for the club,” the statement added.

Aucho, who has long been a key figure for both club and country, responded to the suspension, insisting he has always conducted himself professionally and has never engaged in misconduct.

“I understand my responsibility as a professional player. I have always served every club with respect and discipline,” Aucho said.

He addressed his fans directly, expressing confidence that the situation will be resolved: “To my fans who have stood by me, this situation will pass.”

The suspension takes immediate effect, leaving both players sidelined as Singida Black Stars continues its investigations.

The development marks a rare controversy for Aucho, who has built a reputation as a disciplined leader both on and off the pitch.
