MOTOCROSS | Ugandan riders showcased their prowess on the motocross track, emerging victorious in the East and Central Africa Motocross Challenges held at E-villas in Kalisizo Town Council in Kyotera District at the weekend.
The winners include Gift Ssebuguzi, Jerome Mubiru, Fortune Ssentamu, and Janan Makumbi.
From the onset, the Ugandan contingent demonstrated their determination to excel, with riders exhibiting remarkable speed, agility, and strategic prowess.
The challenging terrain of the track tested their mettle, but they rose to the occasion, navigating twists, turns, and jumps with finesse.
Leading the charge was seasoned rider, Fortune Ssentamu, whose exceptional performance earned him the admiration of both fans and competitors alike.
With lightning-fast reflexes and unparalleled control over his machine, he dominated the races, clinching multiple victories across various categories.
Not to be outdone, emerging talents such as Gift Ssebuguzi, Janan Makumbi and Jerome Mubiru also made their mark on the track, showcasing their potential to become future stars of the sport.
Their passion and dedication were evident as they fearlessly tackled each obstacle, leaving spectators in awe of their raw talent and determination.
“We are so happy that we managed to win all hits despite the rains that made roads slippery.”
Their victories not only brought glory to their nation but also served as inspiration for aspiring riders across the country, reaffirming the boundless potential of Central Africa's motocross community.
Ponsiano Lwakataka, the head of the event, also said the tournament went well despite the disruption caused by the rain cloud.
“We haven’t registered serious accidents though we have some small accidents and we are ready for the second round,” Lwakataka, a rally driver, said.
Uganda won with 1540 points and Kenya scored 179 points. This is now making Uganda leading the first race with Kenta in second.
