North Ankole, Luwero dioceses get new bishops

The House of Bishops sitting at Lweza Training and Conference Center today has elected new bishops for North Ankole and Luwero dioceses.

During the sitting held on Wednesday, Rev Canon Alfred Muhoozi was elected third Bishop of North Ankole Diocese.

According to the statement released by Rev Canon William Ongeng, the provincial secretary of the Church of Uganda, Muhoozi will be enthroned on May 27 at Emmanuel Cathedral.

Bishop-elect Muhoozi was born on October 9, 1972, and he is currently the Archdeacon of Kinoni Archdeaconry in North Ankole Diocese.

He is married to Molly Muhoozi and God has blessed them with four children and two grandchildren.

Meanwhile, the same sitting elected Rev Canon Wilson Kisekka as the fourth Bishop of Luwero Diocese.

He replaces Bishop Eridard Nsubuga Kironde, who retired after clocking his retirement age.

Kisekka will to be consecrated and enthroned on March 24 at St Mark Cathedral, Luwero.

Bishop elect Kiseka was born on October 12, 1970, and is married to Racheal Milly Nakayanga.
