POLITICS | The Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) has rolled out countrywide grassroot mobilisation.

The mobilisation activities, which will start on Monday next week, will seek to register new members in the purple book and train them on the structures and values of the party.

As part of its five year strategy plan, ANT party has launched activities for grass root mobilization.

While Speaking to media in Kampala, Alice Alaso, the national coordinator for ANT, said the activities will include registering new members, developing capacity and training potential leaders as a way of building the party.

"On Monday ANT will start grassroot mobilisation and develop leaders from the village level," Alaso said.

"We are rolling out activities for next grassroot mobilisation to identify potential leaders, register them and hand the purple book and start the process of building structures."

Alaso affirmed the party’s desire to dialogue to create a strong opposition, she however says it can only be achieve if the party ally with a strong and established institution as opposed to the weaker opposition party or movement.

"As ANT, we believe in dialogue and working with a stronger Opposition so we only ally with an institution which brings strength not weaknesses," she said.

"Any alliance of weak institutions will not advance the cause of the party."

The grassroot mobilisation exercise targets to cover 70 districts this year, starting with the sub-regions of Tooro, West Nile, Acholi, Karamoja and Busoga.
