The Supreme Court is set to address 16 civil appeals and applications within a week.

Scheduled to unfold between March 27 and April 3, this judicial blitz seems to justify the court's commitment to expedite proceedings and dispense justice promptly.

Registrar of the Supreme Court, Harriet Ssali Nalukwago, expressed optimism about the potential for eradicating the longstanding backlog, emphasizing the role of the newly introduced mandatory quarterly sessions.

"With each quarter dedicated to handling 30 cases, we anticipate a transformative impact on case management," stated Nalukwago.

The recent addition of Justices Catherine Bamugemereire and Monica Mugyenyi has injected fresh impetus into the judicial apparatus, heralding a renewed vigor in the adjudication process.

Their inclusion augments the court's capacity to navigate complex legal matters and deliver judicious rulings with efficiency and precision.

Acknowledging the formidable challenges posed by the staggering backlog, Nalukwago affirmed the court's commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring timely access to justice for all.

"We are resolute in our mission to streamline court proceedings and restore public confidence in the judicial system," Nalukwago said.

As the Supreme Court braces for the intensive week-long session, anticipation looms high regarding the outcomes of the impending appeals.
