How man killed lover, wrapped body in bed sheets and locked it in boutique
Police in Kira have kicked off investigations into circumstances under which a man killed his lover before wrapping the body in bed sheets and locking it in a boutique before taking off.
The incident happened on Sunday at Kyaliwajjala B village, Kyaliwajjala parish, Namugongo division , Kira Municipality in Wakiso district when Gerald Kabazi also known as My phone, 25 killed his lover Norah Gabeya, 22 after developing a misunderstanding.

According to the Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, Police responded to concerns by locals after the disappearance of both residents.
“Residents realized the shop of Kabazi and Gabeya was closed since morning and got concerned about the abrupt closure which had never happened before. They reported the matter at Namugongo police station,”Owoyesigyie said.
The local had told police that they suspected Kabazi had killed his wife because all the couple’s phones were off following a late-night quarrel.
He noted that police swung into action and on breaking the door of the boutique which doubled as their home, they found a dead body.
“Shockingly, the body of Gabeya had been wrapped in bedsheets and placed in a lying position.”
The Nile Post has learnt that at the scene, items including bed sheets, shoes for the suspects with bloodstains were recovered.
According to locals, on the fateful day, Kabazi played loud music to drown out the victim's cries for help as he killed his lover.
“Investigations into the matter are still ongoing but the body has been taken to Mulago hospital for postmortem and further investigations,”Owoyesigyire said.
Cases of gender-based violence are on the rise in the country and more so after the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Maj.Gen.Steven Muzeeyi Sabiiti recently said there is need to worry about the ever-rising cases of gender-based violence across the country.
“Many of us take the statistics as just numbers but these are our people. They are out sisters, mothers, brothers and other relatives. We need to look at these worrying statistics and get timely interventions,” Muzeeyi said on Tuesday as he opened the training of Police officers on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and sexual Reproductive Health Rights at Kibuli CID Headquarters in Kampala last month.
