I cannot refuse to pay school fees for my children - Pr. Bujjingo (VIDEO)

House of Prayer Ministries pastor, Aloysius Bujjingo has cleared the air about allegations of failure to pay school fees for his children and child neglect labeled against his by his wife, Teddy Naluswa.

Early this week, Naluswa said Bujjingo had refused to pay school fees for the couple’s children and that when they(children) to ask for money at Bugingo’s office, they were thrown out by security guards.

In a self -initiated press briefing on Wednesday, Bujjingo denied the reports as being untrue, saying there is no way a man of his stature can refuse to pay school fees for his children and neither can he neglect them.

“I pay school fees for children who are not mine. How then can I refuse to pay school fees for my own children,”Bujjingo told journalists in his first-ever press conference.

“They are my biological children and it would be foolish of me to deny them a chance to get an education.”

Bujjingo explained that following the wave hitting his marriage with Naluswa, both parties decided to appoint an intermediary between the two former lovers and they chose the church administrator.

He added that all issues including money to look after his family is channeled through him from Bujjingo.

“I pay shs400, 000 for fuel for the two vehicles that transport our children to and from school, shs400, 000 for upkeep and other bills at home per week. I also pay the security guards at our home. How would I then not pay for school fees of my own children,” Bujjingo wondered.

“I have received all the bills at our home through the church administrator but this term the children’s bank slips never came and I don’t know why.”

The senior pastor at the House of Prayer Ministries who seemed irked by the claims said for fear of being accused of occasioning violence on his wife, Naluswa, he agreed to have an intermediary and insisted it is through him that all expenses to run their home in Kitende are channeled.

Plot to tarnish his name

Speaking in a lower tone characteristic of a perturbed man, Bujjingo said there is a big plot to have his name tarnished among his believers.

He said it is appalling that when both parties went to court, it was agreed that issues concerning their marriage be kept out of the public eye adding that Naluswa had broken the agreement made in court.

“I have realized there is a sustained campaign to character assassinate me. There is a calculated move to tarnish my name,”Bujjingo said.

The House of Prayers senior pastor, however, urged her wife to desist from using the couple’s children as a weapon to fight her wars saying it is bad.

“I ask all lovers never to use children as weapons in their fights because it affects them.”

Minister Nakiwala to intervene

Bujjingo asked the state minister for youth and children affairs, Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi to intervene in the matter so that the couple’s children can be saved from being dragged into their wars.

He said at the minister’s office, he would present al evidence to prove he has been looking after his family including children, contrary to Naluswa’s allegations.

He urged Naluswa to also present his evidence so that the issue can be sorted and the children are saved from embarrassment but he insisted there is something big behind the allegations

“I am a responsible citizen, parent and spiritual leader. It is not good for anyone to come up with such allegations. I can’t point out anyone but it is a deliberate move to tarnish my name,”Bujjingo retorted.

The marriage between Bujjingo and his wife Teddy Naluswa has been on the rocks for a number of months since news that the former was planning to wed a new wife leaked.

It is said Bujjingo also filed for divorce from his wife.
