NRM Caucus to meet ahead of age-limit debate

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) caucus shall meet tomorrow ahead of the anticipated debate on the age-limit report in Parliament.

The Legal and Parliamentary Affairs committee over the weekend finalised the report on the age-limit bill at a retreat at Serena Hotel in Kigo.

The committee recommended that the presidential age-limit cap be removed to allow those aged 75 years and above to contest for the presidency.

The caucus is expected to meet and take a position on the report.

Margaret Muhanga, the publicist of the caucus confirmed the meeting saying it will take place in the conference hall of the Office of the Prime Minister.

Even though it is widely expected that the caucus shall overwhelmingly vote in favour of the report, the party is not taking any chances.
