Judges sit today to decide on strike
The Uganda Judicial Officers' Association (UJOA) are set to hold an extra ordinary general meeting at the High Court in Kampala to discuss a way forward in regards to their industrial action.
The judges in September voted to have their strike suspended indefinitely until December 11 as they await to hear from government over their pay.
According to UJOA president Godfrey Kaweesa they will meet today and hear from the Justice and Constitutional Affairs minister Kahinda Otafiire over government's response.

"We will also decide whether to resume with the strike or not, "Kaweesa says.
Judicial officers in August decided to lay down tools over pay and working conditions, a situation that had devastating effects to the public.
According to the current pay structure, the chief justice earns Shs 20m, his deputy Shs 18m and the principal judge Shs 10m while a Supreme court judge earns Shs 9.6m and a judge of the Court of Appeal/Constitutional court gets Shs 9.3m.
High court judges earn Shs 9 million each whereas Grade II magistrates earn Shs 737, 837 per month.
