Second edition of Uganda Golf Club Ladies Open tees off this week

 The Uganda Golf Club Ladies’ open is back, with the second edition of the tournament set for this Friday, August 23rd, 2019.

The organizers revealed during a press conference held at the Uganda Golf Club Terrace today, that the August 23rd-24th competition is a flagship tournament which is expected to attract a significant number of golfers.

"We grateful to whoever has contributed anything towards the development of golf in Uganda especially Uganda golf club ladies.This will be the second edition of this tournament,the first edition was colour and we hope this second edition to be better than the first one.We are ready for the tournament and we hope to put a good competition.over 200 golfer around the country and other countries like Kenya are expected to take part in the tournament."said Uganda golf club captain Anne Abeja.

The annual open, together which is co-sponsored by Tusker Malt Lager, Uganda Communications Commission will have the ladies play on both days for the main event while gentlemen will participate in the subsidiary event to be held on Saturday. Others sponsors are; Case Hospital, Life Care Wellness among others.

In addition, the caddies have the opportunity to shine with their own tournament, 90 caddies teed off this morning.

“We support the growth of growth of golf countrywide and we are already achieving this with our (Bring Golf Home) engagement. It is an opportunity for everyday people to interact with the game, learn its basics and possibly enroll, “said Kelvin Gumisiriza, Tusker Malt brand representative.

The final of the golf tournament will have the players rewarded with a grand gala dinner and award ceremony on Saturday, August 24th, to officially conclude the event. It will be a gold and black affair
