The NRM vice chairman for Eastern Uganda Capt Mike Mukula has advised singer Joseph Mayanja commonly known as Jose Chameleone to against becoming a politician because this will have consequences for his music career.
In a tweet, Mukula noted that politics will erode Chameleone’s financial base hence distract his entertainment career.
Chameleone recently expressed his intention to contest for the Kampala lord mayor's seat currently occupied by Erias Lukwago.
He came out and declared that he had joined DP/People Power during DP-UYD re-union meeting that was held at Kakindu Satium in Jinja district .
“My advice to my good friend chameleone is to go slow on politics. It will erode your financial base,”Mukula noted.
He said musically, Chameleone was as talented as some of African music stars such as Diamond Platinumz of Tanzania, Davido of Nigeria among others.
Mukula noted that the time he spent in politics has taught him lessons hence Chameleone should not risk and ruin his talent by joining politics.
“Don’t say I didn’t advise you. Take or leave it, experience has taught me," he wrote.
In response Chameleone thanked him for the advice and acknowledged their friendship.
“Thank you comrade. I have nothing but respect for you and our friendship,”he replied.
