Joyce Bagala, the news manager at Next Media has instructed her lawyers to take Next Media to court over what she termed as unfair termination of her contract.
Bagala, one of the most formidable Luganda news anchors in the land, was dismissed by NBS TV over the weekend for unclear reasons.
The decision left many of her fans shocked.
Management declined to comment about Bagala's swift dismissal.
Our efforts to reach Rama Mbago, the chief Operations Officer who is Bagala's immediate supervisor were futile as he was reported to be in a series of meetings.
Bagala joined NBS TV in 2016 and has been the flagship anchor of Amasengejje, the 7PM Luganda news broadcast that is widely viewed.
However a source close to the top management at Next Media told Nile Post that Bagala's issues were still being handled and there was a possibility that her sacking could be rescinded.
"Don't be shocked if she anchors today's revamped Amasengejje. Just wait at 7PM and tune in. I am told there was a misunderstanding regarding her sacking," the source said.
Bagala declined to comment for this story.
