Bobi Wine released on bail

Buganda road court has released Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi also known as Bobi Wine on bail.

In her ruling Buganda road grade magistrate Esther Nahirya said all the three sureties for Kyagulanyi are substantial before allowing the bail application.

She however asked him to pay a one million shillings bail in cash and each of the three sureties asked to pay shs10 million non cash.

"You are not allowed to engage in any unlawful demonstrations and if you breach this condition, the bail will be cancelled,"the magistrate said.

She adjourned the case to May 23, 2019.

The legislator cum singer is accused of disobedience of statutory duty contrary to section 116 of the Penal Code Act an offence committed in July 2018 .

Prosecution states that Bobi Wine, his brother Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu, one David Lule, Edward Sebufu and others still at large disobeyed section 5 and 10 of the Public Order Management Act 2013 by holding a public meeting without giving notice to any authorized officer.
