Five civilians charged in army court for posing as SFC, UPDF officers
The Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) Unit Disciplinary Committee has on Friday afternoon charged five civilians for posing as officers from the Special Forces Command and other UPDF units.
The five people including Brian Akora, Robert Bwiire, Gerald Naama, Godfrey Juuko Wasswa and Yahaya Ssewanyana were found guilty of impersonation and possession of forged military identity cards and army uniforms.

The group was recently arrested by CMI operatives.
The CMI unit disciplinary court chaired by Col.Tom Kabuye at Mbuya referred the group’s case to the Division Court Martial at the Land Force headquarters in Bombo because the unit disciplinary committee has no jurisdiction to try such offences.
The identity cards found with the civilians included some for Special Forces Command and UPDF among others.
Section 119 of the UPDF Act stipulates that any person found with weapons, ammunition or equipment that are ordinarily a monopoly of the armed forces will be subject to Military Law and tried by the Court Martial.
The army has always advised members of the public who are not part of the UPDF to desist from using items which are ordinarily military stores.
