Singer Gravity’s condition stabilizes; security guard, two others arrested over his shooting

Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament, Francis Zaake has said the condition of artiste Gilson Wabuyu, also known as Gravity Omutujju who was shot at by a security guard has stabilised.

The rapper was shot at on Wednesday night at LK Petrol Station in Bukuya Sub- County in Kassanda district.

Zaake who visited the ill-fated singer on Thursday morning at Rubaga Hospital said a medical report by the hospital indicated that Omutujju was out of danger.

The petrol station has been cordoned off as a crime scene.

“The medical report shows no major internal injuries. His condition is not worrying and he could be discharged by this evening,"Zaake said.

Security guard arrested

The police has said that three people including a security guard have been arrested to help in investigations into the shooting at the singer.

In an interview with the Nile Post, the Wamala region police spokesperson, Norbert Ochom said the security guard identified as Amos Muheebwa and two other unidentified people have been arrested for firing bullets that injured the singer.

“It is alleged that the singer was heading to Lwebitute trading centre for a show and made a stopover at the fuel station waiting to be led to the venue after fueling his car. The security guard later fired at his crew,”Ochom said.

He noted that police is yet to find out the motive of the shooting but noted that the rifle used in the shooting has also been recovered.
