The Tooro Kingdom has congratulated NBS Television on its 18th anniversary, describing the broadcaster as a pillar of professional journalism whose work has significantly contributed to national development and amplified the voices of communities across Uganda.
In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the Kingdom, Deputy Prime Minister Henry Mutegeki Basaliza said NBS Television has distinguished itself through credible reporting, balanced journalism, and high-quality programming that continues to inform, educate, and inspire millions of Ugandans.
"For the past eighteen years, NBS Television has consistently demonstrated professionalism, credibility, and an unwavering commitment to informing, educating, and inspiring Ugandans. Through balanced reporting and quality programming, you have made an invaluable contribution to national development while giving a platform to the voices, cultures, and aspirations of communities across the country," Basaliza said.
The Kingdom also commended the leadership of Kin Kariisa, Chief Executive Officer of Next Media, praising his vision and resilience in transforming NBS Television into one of Uganda’s most respected and innovative media institutions.
"We express our sincere appreciation to the CEO, Mr. Kin Kariisa, for his visionary leadership, resilience, and commitment to building one of Uganda's most respected media institutions. His dedication to excellence has transformed NBS Television into a trusted household name and a beacon of innovation in the media industry," he added.
The statement further highlighted the broadcaster’s long-standing partnership with the Tooro Kingdom, noting its extensive coverage of cultural ceremonies, development programmes, and heritage activities.

It congratulated the media house on reaching the 18-year milestone and wished it continued growth, innovation, and success in advancing journalism and national development.
