The operation was subsequently extended to Kikajjo, where detectives arrested Charles Kabugo while he was in possession of the motorcycle.

Kabugo informed investigators that he had been sent by Ali Kimera to collect it.

The team later tracked down and arrested Kimera at Wansanso Garage Hub.

Police recovered a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, registration number UEQ 405F, believed to have been stolen from Namasuba.

"The intelligence-led operation enabled our officers to recover the suspected stolen motorcycle and apprehend the suspects linked to the theft," Owoyesigire said.

The suspects have since been charged and are being held at Katwe Police Division pending further investigations.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Dan Mukasa is a suspected serial motorcycle thief who has previously been linked to similar thefts in Bombo, Kaweweta, Namayingo, and Namasuba.

He had earlier served a six-year sentence at Murchison Bay Prison for related offences.

Investigations have also established that the stolen motorcycles were sold through Kimera.

"Investigations are ongoing, including visits to the crime scenes and searches for additional exhibits and suspects," Owoyesigire said.
