The Deputy Commander of the Artillery Division, Col Rogers Dhikusooka Kitwala, has commended students of Masindi Army Secondary School for their discipline and active participation in a patriotism training programme aimed at strengthening leadership, national consciousness, and responsible citizenship among young people.
Col Kitwala made the remarks while officiating the pass-out ceremony of 489 Senior One and 202 Senior Five students who successfully completed the one-week training programme on behalf of the Division Commander.
Conducted under the guidance of the Artillery Division, the training focused on ideological clarity, national values, and Pan-Africanism.
"The programme is intended to nurture responsible citizens with a strong sense of patriotism and service to the nation," he said.
“It also included practical exercises such as marching drills and basic leadership training designed to build teamwork and resilience among the learners.”
The Head Teacher, Maj R. Tazzy, expressed gratitude to the UPDF leadership, particularly Maj Gen Daniel Kakono, the Joint Staff, Formal Education, Sports and Culture, and other stakeholders for their continued support to the school.
He said the school's achievements reflect unity, discipline, and teamwork, adding that Masindi Army Secondary School remains committed to its mission and vision in line with the aspirations of its founding authority and the Commander-in-Chief.
The patriotism programme forms part of ongoing efforts to complement classroom learning with character development, preparing young people to become responsible citizens and future leaders.
