Police Crack Down on Suspected Armed Gang in Makindye, 10 Bullets, Toy Pistol Recovered

Police at Katwe have arrested  three suspects in connection with possession of government stores and other items recovered during an operation conducted in Salaama, Makindye Division in Kampala.

Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Racheal Kawala said the operation was carried out at 2am on Thursday after police officers on patrol received information about two men who were allegedly involved in attacking people with pangas.

The suspects according to intelligence information , were  sleeping in a house located in Zikosoka Zone, Salaama, Makindye Division, Kampala District.

"A police team immediately responded to the information and conducted an operation at the suspected premises. Three suspects, including two men and one woman, were arrested," Kawala said.

She identified the suspects as George Muwanga Makanga, Mashood Ahumuza and Kethier Ishimwe.

"A search of the premises was conducted, during which officers recovered a backpack containing a toy gun, a metallic torch, a screwdriver, a sensor, a knife, and several test tubes.

Additionally, 10 rounds of live ammunition were recovered."

She said the suspects are currently in police custody pending further interrogation and investigations into the matter.
