Kingdom urges authenticity, unity, and talent development ahead of annual tournament

The Buganda Kingdom Minister for Sports, Robert Serwanga, has confirmed that the 2026 Buganda Clan Games will officially kick off in May following a high-level preparatory meeting at Bulange, the administrative headquarters of the Buganda Kingdom.

The meeting brought together members of the organising committee and clan team leaders to finalise preparations and address key logistical issues ahead of the tournament.

Serwanga called on team leaders to prioritise selecting players with genuine passion and strong ties to their clans, cautioning against recruiting individuals without a true sense of clan identity.

“We all want to win, but we must focus on players who truly love and identify with their clans. Let us restore dedication and commitment in these games so we can create excitement and properly prepare future generations,” he said.
