Bishop Bukomeko Calls for Peaceful Coexistence

The Bishop of Mityana Diocese, James Bukomeko Ssalongo, has called on Christians to actively promote peace and unity within their communities, emphasizing the importance of faith-driven actions even after the Easter season.

Bishop Bukomeko urged believers to reflect the message of Christ through peaceful living and acts of kindness.“As Christians, we are called upon to be ambassadors of peace in our communities. Let us use this period to strengthen unity and promote harmony among ourselves,” he said.

He also appealed to government to consider releasing prisoners who are being held on remand, noting that many have spent long periods without trial.“We appeal to the authorities to review the cases of those on remand and consider their release, especially where justice has delayed. Mercy and fairness should guide such decisions,” Bishop Bukomeko added.

The Vicar of Namukozi Cathedral, Wilberforce Sseguya, emphasized the role of parents in shaping the moral and spiritual foundation of their children.“Parents must take responsibility to raise their children in faith and discipline, because this is the foundation for a responsible and God-fearing generation,” Rev. Sseguya said.
