Kampala Hospital hosted a heartfelt Thanksgiving ceremony to commemorate a year defined by resilience, service, and renewed hope.
During the event, the hospital’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Peter Kibuuka, expressed gratitude to God for sustaining the institution through challenges and successes.
Dr. Kibuuka commended hospital staff for their professionalism, compassion, and dedication, calling them “the pillars of care” who have supported patients and families through difficult moments.
He also thanked the community and hospital partners for their trust and collaboration, which have contributed significantly to the institution’s growth.
Reflecting on 2025, Dr Kibuuka noted that the year tested the hospital in numerous ways but also highlighted its strength, unity, and ability to adapt.
Kampala Hospital achieved notable progress, including expanding emergency and maternity care services, conducting rural outreach programs, and investing in training and technology to improve patient outcomes.
Key improvements highlighted during the ceremony included upgraded fire safety systems, enhanced power backup infrastructure, and the installation of a Picture Archiving and Radiology Information System.
The hospital also began preparations for SafeCare and PFHI accreditation as part of its commitment to quality healthcare.
Staff welfare was also prioritised, with the refurbishment of the laundry unit and measures to improve remuneration and overall well-being.
Dr Kibuuka also acknowledged the hospital’s spiritual support, particularly the weekly Catholic Mass conducted by the chaplain.
Quoting Galatians 6:9—“If we do not give up…”—he encouraged staff to continue embracing perseverance, innovation, and excellence as the hospital prepares for 2026.
“As we step into the new year, let us carry forward our faith and mission,” Dr Kibuuka said. “Let us recommit to transforming lives, working as a team, and shining as a beacon of hope for Kampala and beyond.”
He concluded the ceremony with a blessing for the hospital, its staff, patients, and the nation.
