Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament Francis Zaake’s lawyers have informed police that he is too ill to appear for interrogation this morning.
Medard Lubega Segona, Nicholas Opio and Richard Lumu reported to Crimes Investigation Directorate (CID) in Kibuli this morning to request for an extension of their clients appearance to 2pm.
Zaake’s lawyers further explained that the legislator’s appearance at 2pm will be premised on his health condition.
On December 3, Zaake appeared before the CID that took almost a full day before he was given police bond that required him to appear today at 10am.
Zaake is charged with treason and escape from legal custody. Zaake was also supposed to appear in Arua with 33 others to answer charges stemming from the Arua byelections violence.
