A viral video claiming to show Speaker Anita Among making tribal remarks is fabricated. Fact-checkers found the clip is largely AI-generated, with tampered audio and visuals falsely branded as NBS TV content.

A video circulating on social media claiming to show Speaker Anita Among making tribalistic statements is FALSE.

The clip alleges that the Speaker said: “Let those Baganda and Banyankole fight each other as other tribes progress. At least the Banyankole support Museveni, but the Baganda are supporting Ssentamu.”

It further suggests that the comments were made during a parliamentary plenary session and carries NBS TV branding to imply it was broadcast by the station.

However, the DisMis Fake News Desk has confirmed that the video is altered and misleading. Both the audio and visuals were manipulated, and the remarks were neither made by the Speaker nor aired by NBS TV.

A technical analysis using the Hive Moderation tool indicates that 90.9% of the video content is AI-generated or deepfake, and the audio track has been tampered with.
