Ssingo County Chief Mukwenda Deo Kagimu has urged residents to embrace unity, support credible leaders, and back development projects as Church, Kingdom, and government officials rallied together during a charity run in Mityana.

Ssingo County Chief Mukwenda Deo Kagimu has called on the people of Ssingo to remain united and committed to development initiatives that uplift their communities and reinforce the strength of the cultural institution.

Speaking at All Saints Church, Busimbi, in the Diocese of Mityana during a charity run organised to raise funds for church construction projects, Mukwenda Kagimu encouraged residents to safeguard their livelihoods and support programmes that benefit the wider county.

He reminded the community of their responsibility to rally behind credible and trustworthy leaders who prioritise service and the common good.

“Our people must choose leaders who stand for integrity and genuine service,” he said. “Development only thrives where there is unity, honesty, and a shared purpose.”

The charity run attracted a large turnout of believers who moved through the streets of Mityana Town in support of ongoing projects within the Church and the cultural institution. The event also drew leaders from both central government and the Mengo administration.

Minister of Lands Judith Nabakooba commended the Church leadership for defending its land and working with government to secure titles for its properties.

“We appreciate the dedication of the Church leaders who have fought tirelessly to protect church land. Securing land titles is a major step in safeguarding the future of these institutions,” she said.

Busimbi Archdeacon Fredrick Kironde encouraged Christians to participate fully in the next day’s activities aimed at strengthening the Church’s role in community development.

“Let us come together and show our commitment to God’s work. When we unite, we build stronger communities,” he urged.

The event highlighted the growing collaboration between the Church, the Kingdom and government leaders in promoting development and safeguarding community assets across Ssingo and Mityana.
