Thirty-eight National Unity Platform (NUP) supporters who were arrested on Friday while traveling to Bwizibwera have been remanded in custody until November 19.
The group faces charges of obstructing the Deputy Police Commander, Kenneth Kabwigo, while he was on duty.
The remaining supporters have been charged with various traffic offenses.
The arrests occurred amid tensions as NUP supporters traveled within the region, with police citing the need to maintain public order.
Legal representatives for the accused have indicated that they plan to challenge the charges in court.
