Speaking during an NRM dialogue meeting at the district council hall aimed at mobilizing support ahead of the 2026 general elections, Mayanja said the trend had demoralised committed members who have consistently worked to strengthen the party’s structures at the grassroots.

“It is unfortunate that some of our most loyal cadres who have worked tirelessly for the party are ignored, while people who speak ill of the NRM are the ones being rewarded,” Mayanja said.

He noted that recognition and motivation are vital to sustaining the enthusiasm of those who have stood with the NRM through challenges and political storms.

“When the NRM wins this time, it is only fair that the loyal cadres — those who have stood with the party through thick and thin — should enjoy the fruits of their sweat,” he added.

Mayanja called on the NRM’s top leadership to rethink its reward system and ensure that dedication, rather than opportunism, guides appointments and political rewards.

He argued that appreciating genuine commitment is key to building stronger grassroots networks and maintaining the party’s dominance across the country.
