The Nasser International Forum has strongly condemned what it described as “grave violations and atrocities” committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in El Fasher, North Darfur.
The Sudan Chapter of the Forum accused the paramilitary group of targeting civilians and essential facilities in blatant violation of international humanitarian law.
In a statement issued on October 30, 2025, the Forum expressed “deep outrage” over reports of mass killings, attacks on hospitals, and obstruction of humanitarian operations during the RSF’s renewed offensive on the city — the last stronghold in Darfur still under Sudanese army control.
“The deliberate targeting of civilians, hospitals, and humanitarian facilities constitutes a flagrant breach of international humanitarian law and human rights principles,” the Forum said.
“These acts represent war crimes that must not go unpunished.”
The Nasser International Forum called on the United Nations, the African Union, the League of Arab States, and other global partners to urgently intervene to protect civilians, ensure accountability, and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged city.
El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, has become the epicentre of some of the most violent clashes in the Sudan conflict, which erupted in April 2023 between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the RSF.
UN agencies report that tens of thousands have been displaced in recent months as RSF forces advance, with widespread reports of ethnically targeted killings, looting, and sexual violence reminiscent of the atrocities that marked Darfur’s earlier wars in the 2000s.
The Forum urged all parties to declare an immediate ceasefire, open humanitarian corridors, and protect displaced persons — particularly women and children — in accordance with international obligations.
“We affirm our unwavering solidarity with the people of Sudan and urge all national stakeholders to prioritize dialogue over violence,” the statement added, calling for a comprehensive and inclusive political solution that restores stability and unity to the country.
The Nasser International Forum, named after Egypt’s late President Gamal Abdel Nasser, is a pan-Arab organization that promotes ideals of Arab unity, anti-imperialism, and social justice.
Its Sudan Chapter has been vocal in denouncing external interference and human rights violations throughout the ongoing conflict, positioning itself as a voice for regional solidarity amid Sudan’s deepening crisis.
The statement comes amid growing international alarm over the deteriorating situation in Darfur, where humanitarian agencies have warned of famine and mass displacement.
With El Fasher surrounded and communication lines cut, aid groups fear that without immediate intervention, the city could witness a catastrophe on a scale unseen since the early years of the Darfur genocide.
