The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, has appointed Rev. Canon Prof Dr Grace Lubaale, the Bishop-Elect of Busoga Diocese, to oversee the coordination and strengthening of the Pastors’ Children Network (PK Network) across the Province.
The announcement was made during the Global South Fellowship of Anglican Churches (GSFA) New Bishops’ and Spouses’ Formation Retreat at Lweza Training and Conference Centre.
It follows Archbishop Kaziimba’s meeting with the leadership of the Pastors’ Children Network at the Provincial Secretariat in Namirembe on October 15, 2025.
During the meeting, Archbishop Kaziimba pledged to support the inclusion of clergy and lay readers’ children in the governance and mission structures of the Church of Uganda.
“I was deeply encouraged by the passion and vision of the Pastors’ Children Network leaders,” Kaziimba said.
“We must strengthen this fellowship to ensure that the children of our clergy and lay readers are nurtured, mentored, and empowered to serve faithfully within the Church and society.”
Under his new role, Bishop-Elect Lubaale will coordinate mentorship initiatives and diocesan-level activities aimed at equipping pastors’ children for holistic growth and leadership.
Archbishop Kaziimba said Lubaale’s background as an educator, theologian, and mentor, as well as his personal experience as the son of a clergy, makes him well-suited for the position.
“Dr Lubaale is himself a son of a clergy, born to Rev Nathan Lubaale and Ms Margaret Lubaale, a teacher, which makes him well acquainted with the realities that pastors’ children face,” he said.
The Pastors’ Children Network, commonly known as PK Network, is a fellowship of clergy and lay readers’ children within the Church of Uganda.
It provides a platform for mentorship, empowerment, and fellowship to strengthen clergy families and nurture the next generation of leaders.
Ordinand Shem Kimera currently serves as the network’s president.
Lubaale’s appointment adds new momentum to the Church’s efforts to build a more inclusive and supportive environment for clergy families, ensuring that the children of pastors grow with confidence, faith, and a sense of mission.
