A loan request to upgrade 16km of the Nebbi-Goli Road has sparked heated debate in Parliament.

State Minister for Finance, Henry Musasizi, presented the request for a US$20 million loan, but Zombo District Woman MP and Commissioner of Parliament, Afoyochan Esther, strongly objected, calling it "an insult" to upgrade only 16km out of the 120km road.

"It's an insult to the people of greater Nebbi," Afoyochan Esther said, emphasising the need for a more comprehensive approach to address the district's road infrastructure challenges.

The proposal has raised concerns among legislators, who question the government's priorities and the impact of such a limited upgrade on the local community.
