Fire Guts Motor Vehicle Workshop in Ntinda
At least five vehicles and several machines were destroyed when a fire swept through a motor vehicle seat fabrication workshop in Ntinda on Monday afternoon.

 

A fire broke out on Monday at a motor vehicle seat fabrication workshop in Ntinda, a Kampala suburb, leaving massive destruction in its wake.

According to police, five vehicles were burnt beyond repair, while two others sustained partial damage. Several machines and equipment inside the workshop were also destroyed by the blaze.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, confirmed the incident in a statement.

“Today, 8th September 2025, at around 1:20 p.m., a fire broke out in a workshop at Ntinda, Nakawa Division. Five vehicles were burnt beyond repair, two others partially damaged, and several machines destroyed.

Police Fire Prevention and Rescue Services, together with UEDCL engineers, responded and contained the situation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation,” Owoyesigyire said.

No injuries or fatalities have been reported.
