Rotary Goes Prime Time: Districts 9213,  9214 Partner with Next Media to Showcase Service in Action

KAMPALA – Rotary Districts 9213 and 9214 in Uganda have entered into a landmark partnership with Next Media to boost public visibility of Rotary’s community service projects, inspire new membership, and highlight the organisation’s nationwide impact.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signed this week, gives Rotary access to Next Media’s powerful platforms, including NBS TV, Next Radio, and Afro Mobile.

It marks a historic first for Rotary in Uganda, aligning its humanitarian mission with one of the country’s largest media houses.

Kin Kariisa, Group CEO of Next Media and President of the Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf, said the partnership was built on shared values of service and community transformation.

“Next Media is committed to serving humanity and making Uganda a better place,” Kariisa said.

“Through this partnership, we will ensure that every impactful Rotary activity and project receives the visibility it deserves. Platforms like Afro Mobile will now carry the stories of Rotary's incredible work to every corner of the country.”

Rotary’s footprint in Uganda is wide-ranging — from health camps and scholarships to borehole drilling, youth mentoring, and peacebuilding initiatives.

Yet many of these projects have often gone unnoticed by the general public. Leaders from both District 9213 and District 9214 believe this partnership will change that.

“When people see the real impact of Rotary — the clinics, the scholarships, the boreholes, the mentoring — they will want to be part of it,” one district governor said.

“This partnership helps us tell our story boldly and broadly.”

The collaboration is expected not only to raise Rotary’s profile but also to deepen engagement and encourage more Ugandans to embrace its call to service above self. By moving Rotary’s message into prime-time media space, the organisation hopes to shift perceptions — from Rotary as an exclusive club to Rotary as a grassroots force of change.

With this MOU, Rotary in Uganda signals a new era of visibility and influence, positioning service projects at the centre of national conversation and giving its humanitarian work the audience it has long deserved.
