Ham Shuns Parliament Probe on Nakivubo Channel Redevelopment

City businessman Hamis Kiggundu, commonly known as Ham, has snubbed a Parliamentary probe into the controversial redevelopment of the Nakivubo Channel, sending his representative, Anthony Tomusange, in his place.

The probe, chaired by Busiro East MP Medard Lubega Ssegona, is investigating allegations of illegalities and regulatory breaches in the project.

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) officials, including Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and Executive Director Sharifah Buzeki, appeared before the committee to give their testimony.

Kiggundu’s absence has raised questions over his willingness to cooperate with the inquiry.

The committee is expected to examine the project’s approvals and its potential impact on the city’s infrastructure.
