Kayihura speaks out on murder of city lawyer, Adam Mulongo

Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura has called for a holistic plan to ensure that there is security in Ntinda-Kigoowa.

His response follows the death of Adam Mulongo who was beaten to death by thugs as he waited to access his home. So far four people have been arrested in relation to this crime.

On October 29, Adam Mulongo, a city lawyer was killed by goons as he approached his home in Ntinda-Kigoowa, a Kampala suburb. This left residents of this area in fear for their lives given the fact that there have been many death instances in the country lately. Because of this general Kale kayihura yesterday, was prompted to visit the people in this area to see how they can curb the ongoing insecurities. Kale Kayihura said that there is need to put in place a plan that will help tighten security in this area.

“There must be a plan, for security. Do not look at one parish because security in one parish affects security in the whole division,” he said.

Kayihura also noted that this would have been prevented but because of the loop hole in the prevalent security of this area, the crime was committed.

According to Kabuleeta Steven, the Councilor Ntinda Parish, Adam was a very young man who had just started growing and his death is very disheartening.

“In the first place, this is a very young man, a resident who had just started growing. He built a house here which is beautiful enough to shelter him. Unfortunately the area is filled with thugs and the security controls are not tight.”

So far four people have been arrested in relation to the murder. These are also helping in investigations.
