The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of CHAN 2024 has praised Uganda Cranes fans for their spirited support and exemplary discipline during the team’s 3–0 win over Guinea at Namboole Stadium.
At a press briefing at the Uganda Media Centre, Communications and Signage Sub-Committee Chairperson Dr. Dennis Mugimba said the coordination between supporters and the Uganda Police Force was critical in ensuring a secure and well-organized matchday.
“Your cooperation with security personnel allowed everyone to enjoy the game without incident,” Mugimba said. “From the stadium to fan parks in Kampala and Bweyogerere, discipline was the hallmark of this victory.”
The LOC had worked closely with law enforcement to enforce safety guidelines, with security checkpoints, crowd control measures, and fully stocked kiosks in place. Mugimba said these preparations, combined with fan cooperation, prevented overcrowding and ensured smooth entry and exit from the venue.
With two matches remaining, the LOC is urging fans to buy tickets early and remain vigilant in observing safety protocols, especially when attending with children.
