In a heartwarming gesture of compassion and faith, Pastor Wilson Bugembe of the Worship House in Nansana Municipality marked his birthday not with a lavish celebration, but by giving back to those in need.
As part of the celebrations, Pastor Bugembe reached out to some of the most vulnerable members of the community including widows, single mothers, and struggling families by donating food and essential items, an initiative he described as a personal testimony of gratitude.
“This isn’t about abundance. It’s about remembering where I came from,God has brought me through so much, and I feel deeply convicted to share with others. I may not be the wealthiest, but giving is part of my calling. I encourage other churches to do the same the needs in our communities are great.”Pastor Bugembe noted.
He also acknowledged the support of his church members and local partners who contributed to the event, including the Uganda Prisons Service which donated bags of posho that were distributed among the beneficiaries.
“I am truly grateful to the members of this church for standing with me. And I sincerely thank the prisons department for contributing food to help us reach more people,” Pastor Bugembe added.
Among the recipients was Farida Naggadya , a resident of Nansana, who expressed heartfelt appreciation for the pastor’s consistent generosity.
“Pastor Bugembe is a rare kind of giver,” she said. “Every year, he remembers us. He doesn’t do it because he’s rich, but because he has a heart full of love and care. May God continue to bless him.”
For many in the community, the gesture served not only as a source of physical support but also as a reminder of the power of compassion, especially when channeled through spiritual leadership.
