KAMPALA — Prominent businessman and philanthropist James Garuga Musinguzi has died at a hospital in Kampala

Sources close to the family said Garuga, in his 70s, passed on from a Kampala hospital where he had been undergoing treatment for an undisclosed ailment.

He rose to national prominence through a string of successful ventures in agriculture, real estate, and transport, and was also known for investing in community development initiatives in southwestern Uganda.
