Next Media’s Group CEO Kin Kariisa Honoured with Prestigious Leadership Award

Kin Kariisa, Group CEO of Next Media and President-Elect of the Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf, has been honoured with a prestigious leadership award from the Labour College of East Africa, recognizing his outstanding contribution to media and community service. The award celebrates Kin’s visionary leadership, commitment to nation-building, and impact across sectors.

Known for transforming Next Media into Uganda’s leading multi-platform media group, Kin has championed innovation in journalism, digital content, and responsible storytelling. His leadership has shaped how Ugandans consume news, engage with national issues, and participate in development conversations.

In addition to his media leadership, Kin has actively engaged in community work through Rotary. As President-Elect of the Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf, alongside other club members like Jimmy Mugerwa, a UBL board member and noted business leader, and John Muchiri, they have played a central role in the club’s achievements.

These include medical outreach camps, school upgrades, and the upcoming construction of a free maternity ward in Ntungamo District. The club has also promoted sickle cell awareness, hosted inter-club fellowships, and supported youth development through its Rotaract chapter.

Kin’s award comes at a time when Uganda is witnessing a growing call for values-driven leadership. His journey reflects the power of media and service when guided by purpose. He continues to inspire young professionals to lead with integrity, innovate boldly, and remain rooted in community.
