Salam TV, Uganda's pioneering Islamic television station, has partnered with guest representatives from Sri Lanka to launch a groundbreaking Smart Community program. The initiative, spearheaded by Salam Charity, the charitable arm of Salam TV, aims to develop communities across Uganda through comprehensive programs in agriculture, digital skills training, and livelihood enhancement.
During their visit, the Sri Lankan delegates, Faslam Thassim, and Mohammed Mansur, will spend over two days conducting ground surveys in Rwampara district, Western Uganda, alongside the Salam Charity team. This pilot study will inform the implementation of the Smart Community program nationwide, to empower Ugandans through sustainable development projects.
Hajji Karim Kaliisa, representing Salam Charity, expressed confidence in the program's success, citing the organization's extensive experience in humanitarian initiatives. "With our proven track record, we are certain that this program will benefit many Ugandans," he said.

The Sri Lankan representatives echoed this sentiment, highlighting their organization's successful collaborations with various countries worldwide. "We pray that this initiative succeeds in Uganda, enabling many people to benefit from our Smart Community program," they stated.
Following the survey, the findings will be presented to stakeholders in Sri Lanka for approval, with Salam Charity serving as the official partner in Uganda. The partnership underscores Salam TV's commitment to its vision of bridging the gap between Muslims and the broader community through development and social welfare initiatives.
As the program unfolds, Salam TV reaffirms its mission to foster positive change and empower communities across Uganda. "Every act of kindness is charity," the station's motto, resonates with the spirit of this initiative, which promises to bring tangible benefits to countless Ugandans.
